Al Stewart - Past, Present & Future 50th Anniversary EditionThe 50th Anniversary boxed set edition of Al Stewart's classic 1973 album, “Past, Present & Future,” receives a massive update featuring all new 96kHz / 24-bit stereo and 5.1 Surround sound mixes by Stephen W Tayler from the original multi-tracks, along with the original stereo mix newly remastered from the master tapes all found on a multi-region Blu-ray disc. The limited box set also includes several additional bonus tracks and a full concert recorded at The Howff in Hampstead, London, in 1974. The concert has also been newly remixed from the original multi-track tapes and features a special guest appearance by Andy Powell of Wishbone Ash. The boxed set goes beyond just audio with a beautifully illustrated 68-page book that includes a new essay by Al Stewart aficionado Neville Judd, four postcards, a replica promotional poster.

Past, Present & Future marked a turning point in Stewart’s career, propelling him to greater heights with its historical themes and intricate storytelling. Tracks like "Old Admirals," "Warren Harding," "The Last Day of June 1934," "Roads to Moscow," and "Nostradamus" helped establish Stewart's reputation as one of the most imaginative and accomplished songwriters of his generation. The album also features contributions from notable musicians such as Rick Wakeman, Tim Renwick, Bruce Thomas, Dave Swarbrick, Francis Monkman, and Queen’s Roger Taylor.

Those in the know are already aware of the detail and immersive nature of the remixes created by Tayler, having given him praise for previous Stewart remixes, along with a plethora of other classics. This deluxe 3 CD + 1 Blu-ray box is another wonderfully crafted edition in the Al Stewart reissue series from Cherry Hill Records. Although this album never garnered as much long-term popularity it remains relevant with its historical themes. Having already released four albums, Stewart had become well known in the UK live music scene, and with this breakthrough album, he extended his touring to the USA.

Recommended for fans of Al Stewart, collectors of folk-rock immersive mixes, and followers of the popular singer-songwriter era of the 1970’s.

Scheduled for release June 28, 2024.
