Ten Years After – A Space in Time

Here is a second chance to experience the magic of Ten Years After's 1971 album, “A Space in Time,” on the limited edition belated 50th anniversary reissue on Blu-ray from the SDE surround series. This album, which was their most successful, marked a shift towards a more melodic sound and features their most famous song, "I'd Love to Change the World", which has been used in countless movies and TV shows.

After the initial run sold out, Super Deluxe Edition decided to offer a second run of the Blu-ray Audio that contains a variety of listening options. Choose from the all-new Dolby Atmos Mix, a 5.1 DTS HD-Master Audio Mix, the 1973 Quad Mix which is encoded as a DTS HD-Master Audio 4.0 stream, the 2023 Chris Kimsey Stereo Mix in 48kHz / 24-bit, or the flat transfer of the Original 1971 Mix in 48kHz / 24-bit. Special note: The quad mix even corrects the channels that were inadvertently switched on the 2013 DVD & LP release.

Both the updated stereo mix and the new Dolby Atmos mix add a lot of space and separation to the overall ambience. Electric and acoustic guitars have been brightened up as well as bringing Alvin Lee's vocals to the front. Truly the 10 songs on this album transport listeners back to the glory days of rock and roll.

Unlike their earlier albums, A Space in Time showcases a more relaxed and comfortable group of musicians than the ones who played at Woodstock. Though "One of These Days" and "Baby Won't You Let Me Rock N’ Roll You" still show off the band's edgier side, the album is largely driven by acoustic guitars, particularly on tracks like "Here We Come," "Over the Hill," and "Hard Monkeys." listeners can fully immerse themselves in the music and appreciate the musical chops of keyboardist Chick Churchill, drummer Ric Lee, bassist Leo Lyons, and Alvin Lee, who wrote and sang nine of the album's songs.

Due to overwhelming demand a second run was printed and mimic the first and was limited to an additional 1,000 units worldwide (that is a total of 2,000 for this exclusive release), each shipped with a free, collectible SDE Surround Series slipcase. It is now sold out, but copies may be available through third party sellers, including Discogs.
