Blues-rocker Kenny Wayne Sheppard has taken his latest album “The Traveler” to new places with an immersive Dolby Atmos surround sound experience on a single Blu-ray available in late August 2019. This album of experience and profound resonance was recorded in Los Angeles while the band was on a recent break from touring. Pulling together world-class musicians, including vocalist Noah Hunt, drummer Chris “Whipper” Layton (formerly of Stevie Ray Vaughan’s Double Trouble), bassist Kevin McCormick, and keyboardists Jimmy McGorman and Joe Krown, the album features ten songs that brings on rock to the max. It features eight new originals songs co-written by Sheppard and some of the most in-demand songwriters in Nashville’s, plus incendiary covers of Buffalo Springfield’s “Mr. Soul” and Joe Walsh’s “Turn to Stone.”
Initially available on vinyl and CD as a stereo mix in late May 2019, this new edition contains an all new Dolby Atmos mix, DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 mix, and a hi-res LPCM 48kHz, 24-bit 2.0 stereo mix.
