Fleetwood Mac had deservingly made it into the limelight with their eponymous record released in 1975, two years before their absolute smash hit album “Rumours.” By no means were they new to the music industry, having honed their skills over several earlier records. But, it was the move into a more pop based sound and the addition of members Lindsey Buckingham on guitar and Stevie Nicks on vocals that pushed them to the top. The album includes fan favorites such as “Dreams,” “Go Your Own Way,” and “Don’t Stop,” and is one of the best recorded albums of the era. With all of the turmoil among the members in the band by this point, Rumours becomes a diary of real love experiences, something to ponder while seeking a companion on your deserted island beach. Simply put, no Desert Island Collection would be complete without this Diamond selling release.
